Short studies on The Vanguard (music theatre)

Retails run along the main street where the dominant flow of traffic occurs. Residentials reside behind arranging themselves along lesser streets. Public park and public building (church) brings people from lesser streets back together.

Traffic noise dominates the main street and also the railway tracks. Serenity flows through the protected residential area.

The character of buildings along the street defined by the play of openings. Harmony of openings is suddenly taken away by the Vanguard.

Expansion and contraction of volume enrich our spatial experience.

Private space sealed itself up above the public space.

Staffs and customers’ circulation separated yet somtimes intertwined.

Salon where the guests find temporal retreat from the performance.

The guests too, are the performers of the night. They wanted to be seen in their best appearance. A mirror will satisfy their need.
